Find your Windows Product Key

Remember when you would have to use 3rd party tools to snag the Windows Product key off a computer? We do.

Lucky for us it now is as simple as a Command Prompt.

Go to the Windows search bar and type in Command Prompt:

Once it pops up, right click it and select “Run as Administrator”. Click ‘Yes’ when prompted.

When the Command Prompt window opens, type in this command: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey 

It is case-sensitive, type or copy it exactly as it is written or it will not work. After you’ve typed/pasted it into the Command Prompt window, hit ‘Enter’.

The product key should populate underneath the command you typed in. Be sure to write it down and place it somewhere safe. It might come in handy one day.
